Nu North's Danger official music video is out now! The video and the track are on some straight rugged east coast type ish with a northern twist! Nu North Brings back the 1996 Blahzay Blahzay raw hip hop classic Danger. On this track the three Nu North emcees do a great job capturing the streets with gritty but witty lyrics and tight production that gives this song an epic soundscape. Equally notable is that Shazeke’s singing sounds great here even though the Blahzay version did not have any female vocals on it!
This song is catchy enough to have already garnered underground radio-play worldwide. It keeps the main elements of the Blazhay instrumental however adds a fascinatingly effective concoction of stern electric riffs with lots of character and a scorching warm southwest-bluesy groove. DANGER was recorded at the world-famous Diamond Factory Studio, produced by Evil Genius, mixed and mastered by Chad of Electric City Productions.
Shazeke [Sha-z-ik] John is the Caribbean songbird that can be heard singing and harmonizing on your favourite NU NORTH track! Born in Kingstown, St. Vincent, Shazeke moved to Toronto, Canada at the age of 18 to pursue a better life and recording career. Her creative drive originated in trying different forms of art since she was a child. Shazeke’s sound includes various styles of musical genres, such as contemporary R&B, dance-pop, pop rock and the Caribbean music styles of reggae and dancehall. Shazeke says that “at this stage I feel like I want to do a lot of uptempo songs”. Randy ‘Slim Does’ Bell is a multi-talented rapper originally from Toronto, Ontario representing Lakeshore in Etobicoke. Slim Does moved to the Mississauga, Ontario area and started high school at St. Aloysius Gonzaga, where he met rapper Asquar3d and together they started the group NFS. NFS performed at numerous venues around the GTA. After starting college Slim then sought a music career in rapping as well as started his own short-films production company - Slim Does Productions. He was contacted by Spreez who came to him with the idea of starting of Nu North and the rest is history!
Tyrel ‘Supreme’ Mclean was born and raised in an area known as "Deeside", Trelawny a few miles outside of Montego Bay, Jamaica. His rise began when shortly before coming to Canada at age 22, he entered the Olympic Gold Medal record holder Usain Bolt’s hosted show 'Trelawny Got Talent' where he was crowned the top performer, easily winning the contest!
